About Us

SEF First Aid Assistance is a Nationwide First Aid training provider based in Halifax, we provide First Aid training to adults and also children through our partner company Flat Stan First Aid.

Our head office is in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and we have trainers located across the UK. We offer individuals, childcare providers, companies and other organisations a range of First Aid courses. 

Simon Ferris, the director of the company, developed the national and international award-winning Flat Stan First Aid for children which has introduced over 120,000 children to First Aid across the UK and abroad.

Our trainers are ensured to continually assess all practical and theoretical activities with encouragement and support guaranteed.

First Aid for Mental Health

First Aid for Mental Health courses are important because they empower people to recognise the early signs of mental health challenges and respond with confidence, care and understanding.

Just as physical first aid can save lives, mental health first aid helps reduce stigma, encourages timely support and can make a meaningful difference before a crisis escalates.

By equipping individuals and workplaces with practical skills and compassionate awareness, these courses help create safer, healthier and more supportive communities.

Emergency First Aid at Work

A course aimed at those who work in a lower risk environment. It covers major incidents and accidents that could arise where there is minimal risk.

First Aid at Work

This course is for First Aiders in a higher risk environment. It covers more topics and situations than the Emergency First Aid at Work course.

Paediatric First Aid

Courses suitable for those who work in schools, nurseries as childminders, or those who just wish to have the skill to offer First Aid to children.

First Aid for Mental Health

Anyone can be affected by poor mental health. It is important that employers and employees can recognise the signs of poor mental health and offer support.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is how we can protect children, young people or vulnerable adults from abuse or neglect by the actions or inaction of another person.

Catastrophic Bleeds

This 3-hour course will provide learners with guidance on catastrophic bleeding control, including tourniquests and haemostatic dressings.
